Check For Broken Seals Around Doors And Windows
Since you will not only be riding in a motorhome, but sleeping in it as well, it is important to make sure that it is completely protected from water leaking into it. To do this, you will want to grab a ladder and visually look over the silicone seals that run alone the outside of all of the windows and doors of the motorhome. If you notice that there are any missing or broken chunks in the silicone seal, you will want to replace that seal. Even if it appears as though the seals are perfectly fine, you will want to put it through a final test. Grab a power washer and spray down all of the sides of your motorhome. If the seals around the doors and windows are truly in great shape, they will hold up against the pressure of the water. If they do not, and they peel off or you notice that water made it inside of the motorhome, you will need to replace those seals.
Have All Of Your Tires Checked
You will want to make sure that all of the tires for your motorhome are in great shape. After all, if this is not a vehicle that you regularly use, the tires may have developed some rot that a skilled tire technician or mechanic can detect. You also want to make sure that all of its tires have plenty of tread and are in overall great shape. This includes any spare tires that are stored under or on the back of the motorhome. This would also be a good time to double check whether you have a well-functioning motorhome jack so you will be able to change a tire should you accidentally hit something on the road that causes you to have a flat tire.
With just those two tips in mind, you will be able to make sure that your motorhome is as road ready as possible before you load everything up and take off on your trip.
